Sbu Leope (aka DJ S’bu) is a South African radio DJ and television broadcaster. As an only kid, he attended Welamlambo Primary School. In 1993, he enrolled at Central Secondary School in Pretoria.

Sbu then went on to study Sound Engineering at African Media University. In addition, he spent four years studying electrical engineering at Technikon Witwatersrand. His broadcasting career began in 1998 when he did some volunteer work for Thembisa Info Radio, a community radio station. For 18 months, he developed and hosted a popular weekend show.

Sbu joined prominent South African radio station YFM in August 2000, where he developed and hosted the weekend show Beauty and the Beast with Angela Ludek.

In July 2000, he filmed the film Hang Time, appeared on Generations in June 2000, Isidingo in March 2001, and acted in the drama series It Rained Last Night. In December 2000, Sbu appeared in a World Online commercial as well as a Toyota Tazz advertisement. Sbu then resumed his television career by hosting Gumba Fire, a talent hunt youth show that aired on SABC1.

His aim was to expand into other elements of production, which became a reality when he became the presenter of Friends Like These and co-owner of TS Records.
