Their journey started in 2009 when they met at an event in Tokoza. After vibing together, they officially formed their group in 2013, initially known as Ma-Ero & Force Reloaded before settling on the name MFR Souls.
History
In December 2015, they dropped their first Extended Play, “Bless The Souls,” marking the beginning of their musical legacy. But it was their smash hit single “Love You Tonight” that propelled them to stardom. Featuring Sha Sha, Kabza De Small, and DJ Maphorisa, the song became a massive hit, earning them platinum certification in South Africa.
Their collaborative efforts didn’t stop there. In 2019, MFR Souls joined forces with Kabza De Small, Virgo Deep, and DJ Maphorisa for the album “Scorpion Kings,” which earned them the prestigious title of Best Produced Album of the Year at the South African Music Awards.
Continuing their winning streak, MFR Souls released their second studio album “Musical Kings” in August 2020, showcasing their versatility and talent. Featuring collaborations with artists like Bontle Smith, Tshego, and J’Something, the album solidified their status as musical powerhouses.
But they didn’t stop there. In November 2021, they teased fans with their second studio album “Healers Of The Soul,” delivering yet another impressive body of work. Their dedication to their craft was further evident with the release of their EP “T-squared” in April 2022.
Throughout their career, MFR Souls have garnered accolades and nominations, including nods at the South African Music Awards and the MAMA awards. Their impact on the music scene is undeniable, and with each release, they continue to push boundaries and inspire the next generation of artists.
