Inspired by iconic South African musicians like Miriam Makeba and Sophie Mgcina, Klaasen’s career blossomed as she ventured into musical theater and toured extensively throughout Europe. Eventually settling in Canada, she brought with her a fusion of African, Quebecois, Haitian, and French African influences, creating a unique and eclectic sound.

Throughout her career, Klaasen has been a passionate advocate for the performing arts, supporting initiatives that nurture Canadian youth talent.
