Their journey began when they joined Faimos Entertainment and released their first single, “Banane Mavoko,” featuring Jah Rich. This catchy track gained attention not just in South Africa, but around the world, setting Black Motion on the path to success. Their debut album, “Talking to the Drums,” dropped in 2011, showing off their unique style and talent.
As they continued to grow, Black Motion released more albums, like “Fortune Teller” and “Moya Wa Taola,” which earned them awards and accolades. One of their biggest hits, “Joy Joy,” featuring Brenden Praise, became a platinum hit in South Africa, proving just how popular their music has become.
But Black Motion isn’t just about making music – they’re also inspired by some of Africa’s greatest artists, like Miriam Makeba and Fela Kuti. Their passion for blending traditional African sounds with modern beats shines through in every song they create.
Despite facing challenges along the way, including changes in their lineup, Black Motion has stayed true to their music. They’re always looking for new ways to innovate and create, with their upcoming album, “Rebirth of the Drum,” set to drop in September 2023.
