Kelvin Momo, whose real name is Thato Kelvin Ledwaba, is a super talented DJ and record producer from South Africa. He’s known for creating this awesome sound called “private school amapiano,” which blends deep house, jazz, and lounge music into something totally unique.

Kelvin was born in Diepkloof, Soweto, near Johannesburg. Music has been a part of his life since he was really young, like, he was playing musical instruments by the time he was 7! He got into music because of his dad, who was all about jazz.
In July 2020, Kelvin dropped his first studio album called “Momo’s Private School.” The name of the album is all about his signature sound, which is just so cool and different.
Then, in August 2020, he teamed up with his girlfriend, the amapiano vocalist Babalwa M, to release a joint EP called “Bayeke.” And get this, Kelvin produced Babalwa M’s debut album, “Aluta Continua,” which came out on the same day as their EP.
But Kelvin wasn’t done yet! In December 2021, he released his second studio album, “Ivy League.” This one was all about trying new things and experimenting with his sound, focusing even more on deep house, jazz, and lounge music.
